Exports and Globalisation
Are liberalisation and globalisation two sides of the same coin? Can uncaged tigers survive in the jungle, let alone on level playing fi elds? As time zones, currency, boundaries and nationalities mix and merge, can corporate identities be preserved? Ohmae and Naisbitt do provide some answers. The very foundations on which many a national economy has been built are being shaken. The basic underpinning of globalisation is exports and as such the processes, rules and regulations of this game, are the foundations of this treatise. The author, Sunil Chainani, a management consultant and a guest faculty at IFIM Bangalore and JBIMS Mumbai, debates the mosaic of exports and globalisation. Human society evolved through processes of civilised congregation in groups, camps and villages. Is conglomeration a similar process, on a higher plane, leading to a higher form of civilisation? This lesson suggests some answers. This is another lesson in the mind opening series and yet it is also a procedures manual.
